Midlife Crisis – It’s Anyone’s Game

When I first saw the headline: Midlife Crisis: Do Women Experience Them? I laughed out loud. I mean, really — why should men be the only ones to have all the fun? Certainly this is a nervous breakdown to be shared by all adults, right? While the midlife crises of women may not look like a red sports car or an indiscreet affair with a youthful blonde chippy, we most definitely have our memorable moments, and I can tell you from experience: it ain’t all pretty. 

“When my mother was 50, she was a grandmother!” Gurwitch said. “People were one foot in the grave at 50! It’s only in the last 100 years that we’re living so long. I think we’re at this point where we don’t know what 50 looks like, what it’s supposed feels like, we don’t know what we’re supposed to be doing in our lives… This generation now is making up the rules, ladies!”
